Ratanakiri Itinerary – Nature, Culture & Adventure (3 Days / 2 Nights)
Day 1: Arrival – Exploring Banlung & Local Culture
Morning: Arrive in Banlung, the provincial capital.
Visit the colorful Banlung Market to see tribal products and local fruits.
Check in to an eco-lodge or guesthouse surrounded by nature.
Midday: Lunch with local specialties (such as wild vegetables, hill rice, or grilled meat).

Afternoon: Visit Yeak Laom Volcanic Lake – a sacred and beautiful crater lake surrounded by forest:
Swim in the clear water, Walk the 3km forest trail around the lake.
Learn about indigenous Tampuon and Kreung communities from the visitor center.

Evening: Dinner at a local restaurant.
Optional: Short cultural performance or storytelling session by indigenous youth (if arranged in advance).

Day 2: Waterfalls & Indigenous Villages
Morning: Visit Cha Ong Waterfall – a high, stunning fall with a cave behind the water.
Then drive to Kachanh Waterfall, where you can walk across a hanging bridge and relax.
Midday: Picnic lunch near the waterfall or return to Banlung for lunch.

Afternoon: Visit Tampuan or Kreung villages:
Learn about traditional stilt houses, farming tools, and music.
Option to visit a weaving center or try making bracelets with the villagers.
Respect local customs and dress modestly.

Evening: Return to Banlung, Free time for dinner and rest.

Day 3: Optional Jungle Trekking or Gem Mining Experience
Option A: Jungle Trekking Adventure, full-day trekking in Virachey National Park or a nearby protected forest.
Led by local guides and porters. Discover medicinal plants, birds, and wildlife (this requires pre-arrangement).
Visit forest-based communities and learn about conservation efforts.

Option B: Gemstone Discovery
Visit a zircon gem mine to learn how locals dig for stones (educational visit only, no buying encouraged).
Understand the environmental and economic aspects of gem mining.

Afternoon: Lunch in Banlung, free time before departure to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Mondulkiri.
